Arrowhead Animal Clinic

DO NOT GO! First time cat owner. Went multiple times a week for almost 3 weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with our kitten. All they did was shove random medicines (over 4 different meds) that were all hundreds of dollars and slowly let our cat get so sick he almost passed away. They did not do ANY tests and when I asked they said it was unneeded. After telling them my cat was unable to move, gums were paper white, and he was unable to breath, they recommended opening his mouth and shoving food down his throat! They said it was all because he was “hungry” and had not eaten. Absolutely not okay. We took him to a different vet the same day they said that, who immediately said something is very wrong with him and ran not only blood but EVERY TEST. Found out he has Wet FIP and got referred to an animal hospital 3 hours away in Manhattan, where he spent 3 days due to being so close to dying. He was anorexic, lethargic, couldn’t meow, couldn’t play/run/jump, leaking out eyes. At one point, they somehow forgot we even had an appointment and after driving 40 minutes there they genuinely asked me to come back another day since they must’ve forgot to “put it in the system.” If we continued on listening to all the 19 year olds that some how run the place, our cat would be dead. A miserable slow death. DO NOT GO HERE. They don’t even clean anything or wipe anything between each animal. Every vet we saw after that said that not only did they completely ignore what was happening, but the fact he was still alive was a miracle. I am beyond sick that a “Vet” can be so careless and uninterested in helping the pets brought there . I mentioned multiple times that i think something is seriously wrong and they blew off every concern. If only we would’ve just taken him somewhere that actually cares and had they treated him sooner he could’ve potentially avoided the emergency stays. Put your pets first don’t make the same mistake we did.

Their vet, shanlyn cooper and her husband drove back for an after hours visit after my service dog was attacked by another dog at my complex, they got there quickly, and seemed very understanding of my panic. She assured me it was puncture wounds, and he would be ok, they just looked gnarly at first. He immediately relaxed and seemed to instantly trust her and her husband, which to me says a lot about a persons character. I'd definitely recommend Arrowhead, and especially Dr.cooper for compassionate and quick animal care

Dr. Shanlyn and her team are the best! From dental cleanings, teeth needing extracted, bite wounds needed cared for on stray cats, to routine vaccinations, nail trims on my INCREDIBLY difficult to trim dog, and laser therapy on my dog with hip dysplasia that gave me my “puppy” back….they’ve helped us with it all, and been nothing short of fantastic every time! When the time has come to let one of our babies go peacefully, all of the staff has been super respectful and caring and made an incredibly difficult day a little easier on our broken hearts. I can’t say enough good things about them, and I’ll never stop recommending them to anyone who needs quality care for their fur babies. 💕

Amazing staff! They are always helpful, kind, and attentive to my fur babies by providing the best care to them. Dr. ShanIyn and her crew are heroes to the Oxford feral cat population and make it possible and affordable to foster and find kittens their forever homes. I'm so appreciative and thankful for everything you do for our family and our town!!
